Jari Nyman

I have now been at Midagon for over four years, and I have been working mainly in Project / Program manager roles but also as a Roll-out manager, Test manager and IT Service manager. The projects have been related purely to Supply Chain: for example, Logistics strategy creation or ERP / tool-related roles.

How did you start working at Midagon?

Before joining Midagon, I was working at Nokia Networks. I had one Midagonian consultant working on my last project there as IT Project manager, and the cooperation and overall experience were excellent. This is why I decided to approach Midagon with an open application and got selected as a consultant. I started working at Midagon in August 2019.

How would you describe working at Midagon?

I have now been at Midagon for over 4 years, and I have been working in different client projects mainly in Project / Program manager roles, but also as a Roll-out manager, Test manager and IT Service manager. The projects have been related purely to supply chain: for example, logistics strategy creation or ERP / tool-related roles.

My typical day as a consultant consists of meetings with the customer’s main stakeholders and preparing and facilitating workshops for the project. Sometimes, the work includes travelling abroad if a project focuses on international operations outside Finland.

The other side of my work consists of cooperation with my colleagues at Midagon. We gather regularly in various expert communities to share thoughts and experiences. There is always something new coming up in every customer engagement. This is why it is super valuable to get support and ideas from fellow Midagonians who have worked on similar projects earlier.  The community activity is about enhancing learning among our team but also about harnessing Midagon's full know-how to help our clients.

What do you like most about your work?

My learning style is "learning by doing", and this job suits perfectly with that. Each customer engagement is different, and there is always something new to learn. I have also noticed that each client company has their own working culture, and I need to be flexible in accommodating them to achieve the best results.

Tell a little bit about yourself outside of work; how do you like to spend your time off?

Outside working hours, I like to do sports, like padel, floorball, and jogging. Although last summer was an exception - I did not touch my golf clubs at all because I was driving my motorcycle whenever the weather was good.
