Improving insight on Industrial Internet capabilities, opportunities and leveraging them for business value
A large global manufacturer wanted to understand, what Industrial Internet capabilities, services and products are currently -or in the near future- available through their current technology & service provider network. As the customer was extremely busy in conducting the daily business operations along with many other capability development projects, they requested Midagon to conduct the assessment on their behalf as well as to define the implications, opportunities and suggestions for the concrete next steps.
Midagon’s role was to contact the selected companies, identify and assess their current industrial internet capabilities and offerings as well as to assess the future digital vision statements and the potential co-operation models for joint capability development.
In addition, Midagon’s role was to define the strategic implications of the assessment findings as well as to define next steps for the customer from Industrial Digitalization and strategy –perspectives.
As a result of this assessment, Midagon’s customer received a detailed briefing and report about the selected companies’ industrial internet offerings – what products and services are really available today and what might be released in the upcoming future. In addition, the customer also received a detailed report about what should be done next in order to leverage the identified capabilities and partnership models to deliver a real impact to the strategic objectives.
The total duration of this project was less than 3 months including the RFI process and the interviews with the selected companies as well as processing and presenting the results. The work was done with Midagon Industrial Digitalization methodology and assets.
