Hanna Grönlund

I started working at Midagon in the fall of 2021. By then, I had worked for several years on the client side in and between Finance and IT functions and started to think about what my next career move could be. A friend of mine, who worked at Midagon, suggested calling the HR Director of Midagon to consider a consulting path. After the call, I was convinced Midagon would be my next career move.

How did you start working at Midagon?

I started working at Midagon in the fall of 2021. By then, I had worked for several years on the client side in and between the finance and IT functions. When I started to think about what my next career move could be, a friend of mine who worked at Midagon suggested calling their HR Director and considering a consulting path. After the call, I was convinced Midagon would be my next career move.

How would you describe working at Midagon?

Working at Midagon is relaxed, but at the same time, the customer assignments are challenging. This combination really fits my persona. The assignments vary, and I get to expand my knowledge in new areas. For me, it is rewarding to solve even the most difficult “puzzles” for the customers together with my colleagues. When working alone on an assignment, I know I can turn to my colleagues for support when needed.

In addition to the customer assignments, I lead Midagon's Finance Community together with my colleague Minna Matikainen. The purpose of the Finance Community is to bring together our finance peers and share knowledge with each other. We typically meet monthly to share thoughts and discuss a topical theme. I really enjoy these meetings as I learn something new every time.

What do you like most about your work?

I really value the independence and work-life balance that I have in my work. This enables me to do my best to bring value in my customer assignments. When needing support or somebody to bounce ideas with, I can always turn to my colleagues. In addition to the training possibilities Midagon offers, I also learn from my colleagues, which is an added value to our daily assignments.

Tell a little about yourself outside of work; how do you like to spend your time off?

Being a mother to two young alpine skiers takes a chunk of my time off, and typically, during wintertime, I can be found near the ski slopes. When not on the slopes, I can be found walking and training with my dogs, cycling or golfing.
