Lahti City’s ERP Implementation

Kuntien Tiera (a collaboration forum owned by municipalities) implemented an ERP system for the City of Lahti. Before the program, the City of Lahti used several separate applications, processes and system integrations for different parts of its financial operations. Among other things, the new SAP-based ERP system managed finance, control and sales invoicing processes. It handled more than 1000 daily sales invoices from the City of Lahti’s invoicing processes.
Midagon’s role
Kuntien Tiera was responsible for systems delivery and selected Midagon as the delivery program partner. Midagon’s Consultant carefully planned and resourced the program. The program was divided into clear projects, the progress of which was followed up systematically. Corrective actions were taken promptly. The program ended up being a transformation program, not just a system implementation.
Program success and delivered benefits
The results of the Program included lowered overall work effort, less manual work and more efficient processes. Data quality and the quality of reporting improved. The Program Manager closely monitored his tasks throughout the program and coached the whole program team in order to deliver a successful program. The program performed so well that it was selected as the ICT Program of the Year in Finland in 2013.
