System landscape harmonization to enable future development of customer facing services
St1 is a Nordic energy group that operates in several business areas in Finland, Sweden and Norway. In the operations they implement their vision to be the leading producer and seller of CO₂-aware energy.
St1 selected Midagon as the independent harmonization program management partner in a multi-vendor environment. Midagon’s Program Manager worked in partnership with St1’s CIO, Enterprise Architect and Head of ERP and Pricing Solutions to setup the program structure, practices and controls. Midagon’s Program Manager performed and oversaw all the program management tasks from planning to post-go-live care, interfacing with the external suppliers and integrator team. Midagon’s contribution ensured that all practical aspects of program management were handled effectively, in St1’s best interest, and using practices adjusted to the client environment and extensive experience gained in other similar projects.
Project outcome and delivered benefits
Over the course of 3 years, the program deployed a new harmonized system landscape to support operations for sales, both call center and online, logistics and finance in Norway, Finland and Sweden. While most of the capabilities were based on standard solutions from system vendors, customizations were used where solutions felt short or a competitive advantage was gained. The new landscape is critical in ensuring correct and accurate delivery of fuels, timely financial compensation in the station networks and financial accuracy in all operations. It is also a key component in supporting a harmonized platform for further service deployments and system implementations saving both time and money in design, deployment and operations.
